HYDERABAD: For the first time in the current election season, all top leaders and ticket aspirants of Congress hit the campaign trail on Monday in all the 119 assembly constituencies as part of taking the grand old party’s six guarantee card to the doorsteps of the voters.
Accompanied by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and other top leaders, Telangana Congress leaders went door to door in their respective assembly constituencies and distributed guarantee cards having six promises and also released chargesheets against the BRS and BJP governments’ failures in the last nine years.
The two-day CWC meeting on Saturday and Sunday followed by Sonia Gandhi’s rally on September 17, where she announced six guarantees, gave a major shot in the arm to the state leadership that all its rank and file went to their constituencies to get in touch with the voters, for once were not found running from pillar to post at Gandhi Bhavan, to lobby for the party ticket.
CWC member Gurdeep Singh Sappal, who is also an advisor to Kharge, went door to door in Sangareddy assembly constituency with local MLA and working president T Jayaprakash (Jagga) Reddy. “I can assure you all that Congress, if voted to power, will implement all its promises,” he said.
